What the Word of God Says
About Healing
Attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the
midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those
that find them, and health to all their flesh.
Proverbs 4:20-22
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:32
JESUS HEALED THEM ALL
MATTHEW 8:16 When the even was come, they brought unto
him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast
out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were
sick.
MATTHEW 12:15 But when Jesus knew [it], he withdrew
himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him,
and he healed them all; MARK 1:32-34 But evening being
come, when the sun had gone down, they
brought to him all that were suffering, and those
possessed by demons; and the whole city was gathered
together at the door. And he healed many suffering from
various diseases; and he cast out many demons, and did
not suffer the demons to speak because they knew him.
LUKE 6:19 And the whole multitude sought to touch him:
for there went virtue out of him, and healed [them] all.
LUKE 9:11 And the people, when they knew [it], followed
him: and he received them, and spoke to them of the
kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.
ACTS 5:12-16 And by the hands of the apostles were many
signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they
were all with one accord in Solomon's porch. And of the
rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people
magnified them. And believers were the more added to the
Lord, multitudes both of men and women.) Insomuch that
they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid
[them] on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow
of Peter passing by might over shadow some of them. There
came also a multitude [out] of the cities round about
unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were
vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every
one.
ACTS 28:8-9 And it happened that the father of Publius
lay ill of fever and dysentery; to whom Paul entered in,
and having prayed and laid his hands on him cured him.
But this having taken place, the rest also who had
sicknesses in the island came and were healed. Top

[Thy] sins are forgiven [thee]; or to say, Arise, and

the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, he
says to the paralytic, To thee I say, Arise, take up

WHERE DOES SICKNESS COME FROM

keeping the law DEUTERONOMY 28:60-61 Moreover he will
bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou
wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee. Also
every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in
the book of this law, them will the Lord bring upon thee,
until thou be destroyed. (Note that every sickness is
under the curse.)
GALATIANS 3:13-14 Christ has redeemed us from the curse
of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is
written, cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles
through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise
of the Spirit through faith.
ROMANS 8:1-4 There is therefore now no condemnation to
them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the
flesh, but after the Spirit. 2 For the law of the
Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the
law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in
that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending
his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin,
condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteous
requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk
not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he
hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach
deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to
the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
JOHN 20:21-22 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace [be]
unto you: as [my] Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
22 And when he had said this, he breathed on [them], and
saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
ACTS 1:8 But you shall receive power (power to performing
miracles) after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and
you shall be witnesses unto me...
LUKE 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father

saying, All power

them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:
and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the

manner of disease. ... These twelve Jesus sent forth, and
commanded them, saying, Go not unto the way of the
Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
But go rather to the lost sheep
of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach , saying,
The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse
the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils; freely ye
have received, freely give.
LUKE 9:1-2 Then he called his twelve desciples together,
and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to
cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of
God, and to heal the sick.
LUKE 10:1,9 After these things the Lord appointed other
seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face
into every city and place, wither he himself would come.

ASK GOD LIKE THIS
MATTHEW 7:7-11 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and
ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For
every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh
findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or
what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will
he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him
a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good
gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father
which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
MATTHEW 18:19-20 Again I say unto you, That if two of you
shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall
ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in
heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my
name, there am I in the midst of them.
MATTHEW 21:20-22 And when the disciples saw [it], they
marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered
away! Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say
unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not
only do this [which is done] to the fig tree, but also if
ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be
thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things,
whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall
receive.
MARK 11:24-26 Therefore I say unto you, What things
soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive
[them], and ye shall have [them]. And when ye stand
praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your
Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your
trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your
Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
JOHN 14:13-14 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name,
this will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the
Son. If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it.
JOHN 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you,
ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto
you.
JOHN 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you,
and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth
fruit, and [that] your fruit should remain: that
whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may
give it you.
JOHN 16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask
the Father in my name, he will give [it] you. Hitherto
have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall
receive, that your joy may be full.
JAMES 5:13-18 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray.
Is any merry? let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you?
let him call for the elders of the church; and let them
pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the
Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and
the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed
sins,
they shall be forgiven him. Confess [your] faults one to
another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth
much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are,
and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it
rained not on the earth by the space of three years and
six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave
rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
1 JOHN 5:10-13 He that believeth on the Son of God hath
the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath
made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that
God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God
hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his
Son. He that hath the Son hath life; [and] he that hath
not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I
written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of
God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that
ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 1 JOHN 5:14-
15 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that,
if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we
know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. Top
THE TRAGEDY OF UNBELIEF
MARK 6:4-6 But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not
without honour, but in his own country, and among his own
kin, and in his own house. And he could there do no
mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick
folk, and healed [them]. And he marvelled because of
their unbelief. And he went round about the villages,
teaching.
JAMES 1:2-5 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall
into divers temptations; Knowing [this], that the trying
of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have
[her] perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire,
wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask
of God, that giveth to all [men] liberally, and
upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him
ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is
like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
For let not that man think that he shall receive any
thing of the Lord. A double minded man [is] unstable in
all his ways. Top
FAITH
ROMANS 4:16-21 Therefore [it is] of faith, that [it
might be] by grace; to the end the promise might be sure
to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law,
but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is
the father of us all, (As it is written, I have made thee
a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed,
[even] God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those
things which be not as though they were. 18 Who against
hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of
many nations, according to that which was spoken, So
shall thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, he
considered not his own body now dead, when he was about
an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's
womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through
unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he
was able also to perform.
HEBREWS 10:35-36 Cast not away therefore your
confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye
have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will
of God, ye might receive the promise.
HEBREWS 11:6 But without faith [it is] impossible to
please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that
he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that
diligently seek him. Top
HEALING IN MATTHEW
Matthew 8:1-17 When he was come down from the
mountain, great multitudes followed him. 2 And, behold,
there came a leper and
worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make
me clean. 3 And Jesus put forth [his] hand, and touched
him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his
leprosy was cleansed. 4 And Jesus saith unto him, See thou
tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest,
and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony
unto them. 5. And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum,
there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, 6 And
saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy,
grievously tormented. 7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will
come and heal him. 8 The centurion answered and said,
Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my
roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be
healed. 9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers
under me: and I say to this [man], Go, and he goeth; and to
another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this,
and he doeth [it]. 10 When Jesus heard [it], he marvelled,
and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I
have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. 11 And I
say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west,
and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in
the kingdom of heaven. 12 But the children of the kingdom
shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be
weeping and gnashing of teeth. 13 And Jesus said unto the
centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, [so] be
it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the
selfsame hour. 14. And when Jesus was come into Peter's
house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.
15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and
she arose, and ministered unto them. 16 When the even was
come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with
devils: and he cast out the spirits with [his] word, and
healed all that were sick: 17 That it might be fulfilled
which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself
took our infirmities, and bare [our] sicknesses.
Matthew 9:1-8. And he entered into a ship, and passed
over, and came into his own city. 2 And, behold, they
brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and
Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy;
Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee. 3 And,
behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This
[man] blasphemeth. 4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts
said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? 5 For
whether is easier, to say, [Thy] sins be forgiven thee; or
to say, Arise, and walk? 6 But that ye may know that the
Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith
he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and
go unto thine house. 7 And he arose, and departed to his
house. 8 But when the multitudes saw [it], they marvelled,
and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.
Matthew 9:18. While he spake these things unto them,
behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him,
saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy
hand upon her, and she shall live. 19 And Jesus arose, and followed him, and [so did] his disciples.
20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve
years, came behind [him], and touched the hem of his garment:
21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be
whole.
22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be
of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made
whole from that hour.
23 And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and
the people making a noise,
24 He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth.
And they laughed him to scorn. 25 But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the
hand, and the maid arose.
26 And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.
27 And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying,
and saying, [Thou] Son of David, have mercy on us.
28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and
Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto
him, Yea, Lord.
29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto
you.
30 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying,
See [that] no man know [it].
31 But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that
country.
32 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with
a devil.
33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes
marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.
34 But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the
devils.

Matthew 13:53-58. And it came to pass, [that] when Jesus
had finished these parables, he departed thence. 54 And
when he was come into his own country, he taught them in
their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and
said, Whence hath this [man] this wisdom, and [these]
mighty works? 55 Is not this the carpenter's son? is not
his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses,
and Simon, and Judas? 56 And his sisters, are they not all
with us? Whence then hath this [man] all these things? 57

prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and

there because of their unbelief.
Matthew 14:13-14. When Jesus heard [of it], he departed
thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the
people had heard [thereof], they followed him on foot out

diseased; 36 And besought him that they might only touch
the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made
perfectly whole.
Matthew 15:22-31 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out
of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy
on me, O Lord, [thou] Son of David; my daughter is
grievously vexed with a devil. 23 But he answered her not
a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying,
Send her away; for she crieth after us. 24 But he answered
and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the
house of Israel. 25 Then came she and worshipped him,
saying, Lord, help me. 26 But he answered and said, It is
not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast [it] to
dogs. 27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of
the crumbs which fall from their masters' table. 28 Then
Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great [is] thy
faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter
was made whole from that very hour. 29. And Jesus departed
from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and
went up into a mountain, and sat down there. 30 And great
multitudes came unto him, having with them [those that
were] lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast
them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them: 31 Insomuch

blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.

[thou] Son of David. 31 And the multitude rebuked them,
because they should hold their peace: but they cried the
more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, [thou] Son of
David. 32 And Jesus stood still, and called them, and
said, What will ye that I shall do unto you? 33 They say
